Pastor Troy K. East

Pastor Troy K. East serves as the Senior Pastor of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in the beautiful city of Winter Park, Florida. He is deeply committed to preaching and teaching the purity, goodness, virtue, and praise of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Since answering the call to lead New Hope in December 2018, Pastor East has guided the church through a season of tremendous growth and transformation. Under his leadership, the church has expanded in membership, strengthened its ministries, and increased its impact within the community. New Hope now boasts a dynamic online presence, a newly renovated sanctuary, an American Sign Language (ASL) Ministry, and a thriving youth department.

Pastor East discovered his passion for teaching and sharing God’s Word through many years of faithful service. As a devoted member of Mount Sinai Missionary Baptist Church for more than 24 years, he served in several key roles, including Youth Leader, Sunday School teacher, and Young Adult and Deaf Pastor. Through these experiences, he fully embraced his divine calling to preach and teach. His energetic and uplifting preaching style continues to inspire and encourage the body of Christ, as he mentors and empowers others to reach their God-given potential.

In addition to his pastoral responsibilities, Pastor East is actively engaged in leadership beyond the church. He serves as President of the Winter Park Ministerial Alliance and previously held the position of Vice President of Congress for the West Coast Baptist Association. Professionally, he was the Director of Financial Aid and Military Affairs at Full Sail University for over 15 years and served as the President of the Florida Association of Veteran Educational Specialists (FAVES).

A life of Faith

Pastor East is happily married to Lady LaTasha East, and together they celebrate 20 years of marriage. He is the proud father of Kemy, Tyler, and Trystin, three outstanding young men who bring him immense joy. Originally from Queens, New York, Pastor East relocated to Orlando, Florida, in 1986. He is a graduate of Maynard Evans High School and the International Theological Seminary. A devoted family man and man of God, he is passionate about advancing the cause of Christ and lives by his favorite scripture.

Philippians 4:8:” Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”
